QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

Ask a Question
  • If you have 48Volt power supplies, will the ports auto negotiate power to the devices if they are passive? Say a 24V passive device is plugged into the inserter. Will the Inserter auto negotiate the power to 24V? If not, can I provide both 48V and 24V power with 2 different power supplies?

We do not recommend plugging 24 volt devices into the same injector that you will have 48 volts running on as you will have a high potential of killing your POE 24 volt device. All of our passive injectors will constantly have power available at which ever voltage of power supply is plugged in. We do offer a step down converter for adding 24 volt devices onto an injector with a 48 volt power supply. This converter is called WT-GAF-24V15W and will work with 24 volt passive devices. You will need 1 WT-GAF-24V15W for every 24 volt POE device you are adding onto the injector which has a 48 volt power supply. Please if you have more questions feel free to call us at 512-479-0317 and we are happy to go through any questions you have about POE and help make the best recommendation for you as to which product will work best!

  • Would this work with Ubiquiti passive access points?

Yes - just add a 24 volt power supply.
