Gigabit Active PoE Extender

SKU GPOE-Extender
$78.99

Go the distance! Deliver power via Ethernet up to 500 meters* away from the source. The inline PoE Extender allows you to power an IP camera, WiFi access point or backhaul and other PoE devices through an exterior network data cable at up to 500 meters while carrying Gigabit data speeds through.

NOW WITH 802.3BT CAPABILITY. Use IEEE 802.3bt power sourcing equipment (PSE) like the BT-1-55v60w to extend PoE power (44-57 volts) past the typical 100 meters.

Product Features:

  • Compatible with IEEE 802.3af/at/bt switch or injector
  • Use to power Wireless APs, Base Stations, Network Cameras and other high power devices
  • Delivers 55v, 60w to your end device
  • Designed for outdoor use with IP67* and 6K surge protection (water resistant; do not submerge)
  • 10/100/1000 Gigabit data rate carries through
  • A single extender extends PoE power an additional 300 feet
  • PoE Powered - No power supply required
  • Uses Active PoE to protect non-PoE and low-voltage devices

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

Ask a Question
  • Does this extender allow tagged VLAN traffic to pass?

The GPOE-Extender will allow tagged VLAN traffic to pass through as it does not alter data in any way.

  • How many of these can be cascaded? Example one plugged into another. We need to run a data cable 1000 feet outdoors. We have a Poe switch that supports 4 pair and 2 pair 48v poe. Would we install (1) at 330 foot (2) at 330 foot will this work?

You can use multiple in a daisy chain. This particular extender only does 2 pair (30 watt / 802.3AT) POE. We will email your the distance chart to show where to place every extender (every 330ft) and the power losses associated with the distance. We are about to release our upgraded version in the next month which will be 4 pair 802.3BT POE, check back in with us soon for this version.

  • Can I connect this to a non-poe device? I want to install the extender in a barn, so I'll put an injector in my house to power the extender. But the device it connects to in the barn does not support poe (or does not require it). Will this work? Or do I have to install a splitter in the barn as well?

The PT-GPOE-Extender requires a power and data input. We will be emailing you to inquire more details about your application and the end powered device.

  • I am trying to run internet between 2 buildings, from a unifi 8 switch 150w into another same switch. There is a cat5 run distance is probably 400ft. Will this product work, and how do I install?

Yes, the PT-GPOE-EXTENDER will extend the gigabit data speed. The extender should be installed at 330 feet to boost your data signal up to 330ft. Taking into consideration the maximum amount of wattage the main switch can provide from one port to the second switch, you will want to make sure the maximum wattage consumption of the devices being powered on the second switch does not exceed the amount being supplied.

  • Hi there, I have a question regarding the PT-GPOE-Extender. Are the switch port casings shielded metal and bonded with each other or non-shielded / plastic?

The RJ45 terminals are Sheilded, the body of the extender is alluminum. I will email a copy of the data sheet to you. Feel free to respond with questions.

  • Will it run 10 GIG

The GPOE-Extender is rated for up to 10/100/1000 mbps; not up to 10 GIG.
