QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

Ask a Question
  • Since this is gigabit, what is the max transfer rate through the usb end? My 4k fireTV lags with the current splitter Im using, but it is only 100mb.

Thank you for writing in, the USB port is going to be for power only, the data is transferred on the RJ45 and is true ( 10/100/1000) Gigabit speed.

  • Can this be used to power a Raspberry Pi 3?

Yes, this will power Rasbperry Pi3

  • Does the Ethernet port also output 801.11af POE? IOW do you get both USB power and POE to the ethernet device?

The Micro USB is designed for fast charging Android and does not provide data. The RJ45/ LAN cable can provide data to a device. To get direct wired power and data to an android device, see our blog Android/Tablet Power and Data with PoE or email us, service@poetexas.com

  • Does this device support AutoNegotiation? I want to use it with a Ubiquiti switch that I think requires the support of AutoNegotiation. I could be wrong about that.

Yes, the GAF-MicroUSB is compatible with an auto-negotiating PoE switch, or injector, on the input side only. Output 5 volt power is not negotiating.

  • What is the solution to charge and run tdata to the table using POE? e.g. Samsung Galaxy Table E or Huawei Media T3

At this time we do not have power + data solution for micro USB. the GAF-MICROUSB is a power only solution.
