QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

Ask a Question
  • Will this work with the unifi g4 pro door bell?

  • Will this work with the Lenovo M10HD?

From our testing, we have found that that Lenovo M10 does not allow for simultaneous power + data over the USB-C port.

  • Would you please confirm that the GAT-USBC-PD-REV2 will support the Galaxy SM-T510NZSAXAR units? This model is the specific solution required for our application (which requires over 100 tablets) and we would like to test the GAT-USBC-PD-REV2 as the power supply/splitter for this specific Samsung Galaxy SM-T510 series model. Thank you!

Yes, we have successfully tested the GAT-USBC-PD-REV2/R2V2 against the SM-T510. It is a compatible POE+ to USBC adapter for power + data delivery.

  • Can I use this to power a tablet through Micro usb with a ucb-c to micro usb adapter cord?

Thank you for your question. GAT-USBC-PD will not, unfortunately, provide power and data to a MicroUSB device. The data protocols are different. The GAT-USBC-PD will provide the power to a MicroUSB device, but not the data.

  • Can you please explain the power delivery profile. What happens when the battery reaches 100% ? What protects the tablet battery from overcharging?

Great question! With USB-C power delivery, the powered device and USB-C source communicate to determine which power profile is needed. As for overcharging, this is typically built into the tablet for protection. Similar to how standard chargers work, the tablet will continue to show charging even when it's at 100%. It's getting power, just not needing to pull as much to stay charged.

  • Will this work with a Gen 4 12.9”?

Yes, the GAT-USBC-PD will provide both the data and the 18 watts power out on the USB C needed for the iPad Gen 4 12.9".

  • Please tell me the product dimensions.

    The dimensions of the GAT-USBC-PD are 4.5 x 2 x 1 in.

  • I have just purchased GAT-USBC-PD-REV2 on your site. But could you please tell me what is technically speaking the difference with previous product GAT-USBC-PD ? Thank you.

The GAT-USBC-PD-REV2 has an updated component to make it compatible with the iPad Pro Gen3 (12.9"). Because of the screen size on the iPad, it tries to draw more than 25 watts at times, especially when the brightness is 80% or higher. The updated REV2 limits the draw to 25W.

  • What are the limitations of the GAT-USBC-PD-R2V2, as compared to other models like R2V3 & REV2? Is there a chart showing the differences?

The R2V2 and the R2V3 are functionally the exact same and rated for 10/100 Mbps. The only difference between them was a change to a resistor on the board. Meanwhile, the V3 has a smaller form factor, metal casing, and is rated for Gigabit data speeds. All three have the same power profiles.

  • Will this work with 10th gen iPad?

Yes, this will work with the 10th gen iPads.
