QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

Ask a Question
  • What does the N-V-S switch do? Where can I purchase a AD/DC convertor if I want to use this device as a 4 port switch w/ uplink, instead of a POE extender? The device itself came with no user manual.

    The N-V-S is as follows:

N - Normal mode, all of the ports can talk to each other
V - VLAN mode, the output ports won't talk to each other, only to the uplink ports
S - Will drop the data rate to 10 Mbps, but it will be able to extend twice as far (used for if you need a very long cable run)

You can use this as an uplink port to send power and data to up to four other devices, but this still requires a midspan PoE injector such as the BT-1-55v60w

This will not require an AC/DC converter.
