  • I have the WS-POE-USB-kit powering a Nest camera. I just purchased another Nest Cam (outdoor). What do I need to purchase or do in order to get power from my current injector to the new Nest Cam? Can I connect the WT-AT-USB splitter to the male RJ-45 connector on the Injector?

Normally we would say you could purchase another kit, or if you'd like you can check out our WS-POE-8-24V60W which is a injector and power supply which will allow you to power up to 8 devices over ethernet. If you have a NestCam with the microUSB port in addition to the injector you will need WS-POE-5V10W or WS-POE-USB (if your nestcame requires USB for power).

However, if it's the "new" NestCam Outdoor with the USB Type C connector, there's a different solution.

  • Can you please tell me the size of the male and female power plugs (ie 1.35mm or 2.1mm)?

The injector has a 2.1 mm female DC barrel connector.  The splitter has a 1.35mm male DC barrel that plugs into the 1.35mm female end of the USB adapter.

  • Does this kit require a 12v power source? I see a wall plug in the picture. Will this work with with POE in to USB out to power an iPad?

This kit includes a 24 volt power supply that you will plug into the wall. This could work to power an ipad from female USB power to apple charging cable. Another option could be our WS-GPOE-1-48v15w paired with WT-AF-Lightning splitter, this is our newer method for charging ipads via POE.
